Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Service Specialist to join our amazing culture.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation projects including small to large projects that vary in complexity.
Also delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules.
Acts as key interface for technical support with the customer and maximizes customer satisfaction.
May mentor less-experienced staff.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience” Convergint's greatest strength is our people! Carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on technical project requirements; manage a variety of aspects of project including estimating, designing, tracking, start up and planning phases; material and equipment procurement.
Provide input, reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring etc.
Provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
What You’ll Need Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Ability to convey complex subject matter to a non-technical audience.
Willing to learn technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
To be a self-starter and work well with little supervision.
Understanding of electronics to include Ohm’s law, resistor color code, and relay logic for control of third-party equipment.
Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.
g.
works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning Edwards or equivalent fire alarm systems of small to medium complexity.
To be driven to achieve necessary certifications/licensing related to products, industry, and city/state.
Willingness to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Possess NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems.
Possess low voltage electrical license as required by local/state authority.
Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis.
Minimal overnight travel may be required.
