Physical Security Technician Physical Security Technician (PST) will provide first level support to our Field Operations Manager/s located within North America.
The ideal candidate has extensive field experience in the physical security intrusion service, installation alarm, and commissioning of EAS and RFID systems.
The candidate must be customer-centric and measure success by both positive results and the positive impression that they leave the customer with.
The candidate will be working from the Prosegur Global Retail office and reporting directly to the Field Operations Manager and shall be capable of working with minimal direction.
Responsibilities: The Physical Security Technician (PST) will be responsible for design support, small installs, and service support for an assigned region.
They will work closely with Project Manager (PM), Service Manager/Service Coordinator (SM/SC) and Design Engineer (DE) and will report to the Field Operations Manager for Technology (FOM) The PST will assist with responsibility for the security project once instructed by the PM.
The PST will join (where necessary) the project specific conference calls.
The PST will ensure that the project is delivered as per the clientele’s detailed scope of works.
The PST is responsible for technical commissioning and completing a quality control audit of the new security system with the DE.
The PST will take photographs and provide reports on installation work onsite, identifying deficiencies, documenting gaps, and foreseeing future issues based on past experience.
The PST is responsible for ensuring that the system completes a signal acceptance review and is monitored within the required timescales.
The PST will verify and accept the as installed documentation to ensure accuracy.
The PST will support the SPM with small works requests and day to day maintenance/service requests before project turnover to the Maintenance Manager.
The PST shall understand how to field dress and terminate head end devices (i.
e.
, ACP, IAP, NVR etc.
) The PST shall be able to identify the requirements for the security system to interface with the site and/or bldg.
system (s) The PST shall be able to work with other stakeholders to ensure the critical path is not impacted (i.
e.
, Door Hardware Schedule, Cable Pathways, Conduit – Wall, Door + Frame, and Ceilings) The PST shall have a competent understanding of Structured Cabling Systems and Fiber Optic Cabling.
The PST shall have a competent understand security devices installations (i.
e.
, CRs, Cameras, MD, EAX etc.
).
The PST shall have a competent understand EIA/TIA 568 and NEC standards, IT Infrastructure and DOS Commands The PST shall have a strong understanding of: Access Control Systems design and implementation, CCTV design and implementation.
The PST shall have a competent understanding of Electrical Basics, including Ohm’s Law.
The PST shall have a competent understanding of Construction Projects, Job Safety Training, and is expected to assess site conditions in various phases of construction to anticipate milestones that are key to success of Security Systems installations.
The PST shall support service calls in their region during regular business hours and on occasion, evenings, and weekend work for emergency calls.
The PST shall support local sales reps with site walks and basic design layout which will be provided to design engineers for estimate generation.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience in commercial installation and service of IP video, analog video, access control and intrusion detection systems.
Strong knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Access Control and CCTV systems Familiarity or certification in Lenel, Milestone, Genetec Access/Video, Cloud-based Access/Video products.
Understanding of structured cabling basics and troubleshooting.
Understanding of electrified locks and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of IP and networking concepts.
Valid state driver’s license without restrictions Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (drug, background, and driving history).
Up to 75% travel, as necessary which may include air travel.
Effective communication skills.
Local Low Voltage Licensing is a plus.
