Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Structures Superintendent to join our Pacific West Region.
The Structures Superintendent is responsible for coordinating resources (manpower & equipment), managing, and directing the project foreman, and staffing project labor requirements.
The General Superintendent assists the PM and/or PE with preparing and updating project schedules, work activity planning (WAP), TEAM meetings, and coordinating subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient construction of projects.
This person runs single projects from a site location or multiple smaller projects from a central location; this position has direct profit loss responsibility along with the Project Manager for assigned projects.

Responsibilities
Monitor project progress, and ensure safe and quality products and/or projects are complete
Collaborate with human resources for craft labor hires, layoffs, and terminations
Complete weekly equipment reporting
Conduct daily and weekly site safety audits
Set and achieve daily, weekly, monthly production goals (utilizing Heavy Job system)
Complete daily diaries and documentation in Heavy Job
Coordinate subcontractors; communicate issues and concerns to project management
Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment
Assist with interviewing, selecting, and training new employees
Direct daily crew work
Appraise employees productivity; recommend promotions or changes in status
Handle complaints and grievances; disciplinary actions; and maintain production records for use in supervision or control
Assist in maintaining project cost control and efficiency
Plan the work; determine techniques, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools to be used
Perform project set-up: permits, licenses, office space, materials
Perform project start-up: mobilization, material, manpower
Performs project close-out
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules; activity planning and preparing WIP meeting
Administer and ensure compliance with Kraemer Safety and assist with overseeing Quality Programs
Coordinate the training of new employees
Oversee that foreman conduct daily TEAM meetings
Analyze and resolve work problems that may develop
Work with the Project Manager and Project Engineer on determining formwork and false work systems and methods
Assist Project Engineer with reporting quantities
Determine safe slope conditions, form design, and activity sequencing
Develop and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals to Kraemer crews
Participate in weekly meetings with owners and subcontractors
Maintain safe practices and procedures on the job site
Mentor and develop project staff
Assist in identifying market opportunities for assigned region by establishing and maintaining effective contact with owners, subs, suppliers and potential clients
Ensure compliance with EEO/Affirmative Action contract requirements

Qualifications
10-15 years of experience in heavy highway transportation, preferably bridge structures focus
5-10 years of experience as a structure superintendent
Steel erection experience desired
Design-build experience preferred
Local WA/OR/ID experience
Knowledge of activities involved in areas of operations
Experience in budget management
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to perform effectively in a high-stress environment
Ability to work occasional nights and split shifts

Hiring range: $130,000 - $180,000
Base salary is dependent on multiple factors: education, experience, skills, market rates, internal equity and/or location.
