Job Summary:
Responsible for the direction of crew activities on job site, according to pre-established schedules, standards and procedures to provide a high quality of service, as directed by Area Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and implement job specifications for each site
Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure compliance
Perform landscape maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: mowing, edging, blowing, bed grooming, pruning, fertilizing and leaf pick up
Routinely monitor sites for quality and follow up with crews on performance improvements.
Communicate continuing concerns to Area Manager
Conduct and oversee execution of minor Enhancement projects performed at the crew level
Complete daily paperwork timely and accurately
Assess equipment operation issues and effectively communicate repair needs to shop personnel
Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment
Assist Area Manager with initial and on-going training of crews
Assess skill level and work behavior of employees and provide recommendations to Area Manager regarding professional development, performance evaluation and promotional opportunities
Ensure adherence to company policies
Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Area Manager, peers, and subordinates
Encourage and maintain safe working conditions by promoting Company’s “Culture of Safety”, including but not limited to reinforcing bi-weekly safety tailgate meetings and ensuring proper personal protective equipment usage
Qualifications:
Education
At least 3-5 years related work experience
Language Skills
Ability to communicate in English
Bi-lingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Valid Driver License in state where employed
Commercial Pesticide Applicators License preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment and tools
Demonstrate proper pruning techniques while taking into account the plant material and season
Understand fertilization basics for both turf and plants
Working knowledge of herbicide applications and relevant practices
Have a general understanding of annuals installation and maintenance
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under tight deadlines
Ability to motivate and lead subordinates
Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service
Ability to read and understand maps for navigation and job planning
Basic understanding of smartphone apps related to work requirements (e.
g.
work order entry, time entry, communication with Area Manager)
